- とうかいどう【東海道】(1)律令制における七道の一。 伊賀・伊勢・志摩・尾張・三河・遠江・駿河・伊豆・甲斐・相模・武蔵・安房・上総・下総・常陸の一五国より成る。 また， それらを通る幹線道路をいう。(2)江戸時代の五街道の一。 江戸から京都に至る太平洋沿いの道路。 五三の宿駅があった。
